Wednesday Night Suppers

Great food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere!  We serve a community meal for about 50 people every Wednesday from September through June. Pay-what-you-can for those in need.  Coffee, tea and soup are available during the Drop-In between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.  There’s a reflection and sharing time at 5 p.m. and prayer at 5:30.

Cooks and servers are made up of volunteers from both the church and the neighbourhood.

Dinner:  6 p.m.

Drop-In:  4 – 6 p.m.

Group Reflection:  5 p.m. (optional)

Prayer:  5:30 p.m. (optional)

The Wednesday Night Suppers were born many years ago in response to Isaiah 58:6:

“Is this not the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?  Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter-when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?  Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear.”

Come and join us for dinner, and a sense of community, or arrange to volunteer!
